This chemical is formally referred to as N-methyl-1-(thiophen-2-yl)propan-2-amine and has a molecular formula of C8H13NS but is more commanly known as MPA.
This chemical is fairly new to the RC scene, so there's little to no published information about its effects, despite the fact that its synthesis dates back to 1942.
Synthesizers created it by substituting thiophene for the phenyl group.
Methiopropamine can function as a selective norepinephrine-dopamine reuptake inhibitor that is roughly 1.85 times more selective for norepinephrine than dopamine. It is approximately 1/3 as potent as dextroamphetamine as a norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor and one fifth as much as a dopamine reuptake inhibitor. It displays negligible activity as a serotonin reuptake inhibitor.
